On Thursday, October 7, UB-SEDS held an astronomy observing event in the Special Events Field across from the Student Union. We set up our Celestron C10-NGT telescope, and were joined by members’ telescopes and a 12″ Dobsonian brought by a member of the Buffalo Astronomical Assosciation. We were able to observe Jupiter, including Io entering occulation, and the Great Red Spot. We also were able to view other objects such as the Andromeda Galaxy.
Below are a few pictures of the event, including afocal images of Jupiter.
