General Meeting

This is a quick reminder that there is a SEDS General Meeting scheduled for 09/23/2009 at 5:00 pm in Furnas 206.  We will be discussing our attendance at our conference, SpaceVision.  We will also talk about some of the postions that are avalale this semester, both nationally and locally; and the X-Prize Lunar lander challenge.  Finnally, we will hold a quick discussion about the NASA Microgravity university program.
Also, to clarify, we are currently working on finding funding for our travel to SpaceVision.  The estimated costs right now out of pocket are about $250/person, although we have a goal of getting the costs down further.  We will be discussing the conference travel further in the upcoming meeting.  For more information on this conference, go to, and if you are interested in attending, please send a reply email to with ‘SpaceVision’ in the title.

UB SEDS Astronomy preps for start of new semester

UB-SEDS Astronomy project group is currently in the process of organizing for the semester.  We currently have a doodle calendar for fixing the astronomy meeting times.  After we get the input from that, we can set up meeting and viewing times.  Also, we are currently in discussion with the physics department regarding the use of some of their telescopes by the project group.  Alltogeather, it should be a great semester for astronomy!
